DON'T MISS THE SHOW FOR A DOG DAY AFTERNOON: A TRADE UNION TO STAGE A PEACEFUL OCCUPATION OF GIBRALTAR

It is quite funny, if not shocking, that in the politically correct 21st century various states still cling to their foreign territories, having no connection whatsoever to their main masses of land. The most notorious seem to be two pieces of land still being held by Great Britain: the Falklands, islands off the coast of Argentina (known better in Spanish as Malvinas),  and Gibraltar, strategic rock at the entry from Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea, at the base of Iberian Peninsula. Both these territories remain a bone of disagreement between, respectively, Great Britain and Argentina, and Great Britain and Spain. Both Argentina and Spain have placed the retaking, or taking over of these territories, pursuant to the Brits, high on the list of their foreign policies, and the subject of Malvinas and Gibraltar is quite hot in the media. Gibraltar is again in the news today, this time in a funny way, which hopefully should not produce major tensions between Spain and Great Britain, otherwise allies in NATO and members od the European Union. Pursuant to the U.K. newspaper, the Telegraph, a leftist Spanish trade union called Andalusian Workers Union (SAT), which has 20,000 members, announced plans to occupy  the most famous rock in the world on August 29, 2014. SAT is known for its Robin Hood style activities like supermarkets raid for the poor to collect food and school supplies for the poverty-stricken families or "expropriation" of a disused luxury hotel. The SAT spokesman Diego Canamero announced plans to reclaim Gibraltar not for Spain, but as he stated, "for the people of Andalusia". Mr. Canamero stated that SAT "wants to reinstate Gibraltar's Andalusian sovereignty, dismantle the British military base and protect small scale fishing in those waters". When asked about the plans to "carry the invasion of Gibraltar, Mr. Canamero resolutely answered: "We haven't decided yet, we are aware that there's a large security presence at the border but we'll find a way round it". The Telegraph reminds about the history of Gibraltar, and that it has been ceded by Spain to Britain under the 1713 Treaty of Utrecht, and since then it has been a thorn in relations between these two countries. Apparently, since the start of 2013 there were approximately 600 incidents of encroachments of Spanish vessels on territorial waters of Gibraltar. Eventually, both allies - who incidentally never showed much love towards each other - should resolve the matter between themselves, however, a great number of people will sit on the fence comes August 29, awaiting with curiosity how SAT will carry on its Robin Hood-style invasion against the British tax heaven and the famous fortress of Gibraltar.

Ja nigdy tej papki nie chcialem, i nie znam wielu posrod znajomych ktorzy sie tym produktem dostarczanym masowo przez branze rozrywki badz media delektowali badz produktu tego zadali. W jaki wiec sposob kontrolujacy i zarzadzajacy mediami i branza rozrywkowa wiedza ze typ i rodzaj rozrywki jest przez nas naprawde chciany czy lubiany? Dlaczego tego typu rozrywka jest nam dostarczana, kiedy jest jasne i oczywiste ze atakuje ona to co jest piekne i dobre w nas, czy spoleczenstwie, i my wszyscy mozemy zaswiadczyc ze nasza jazn czy dusza nie potrzebuje i nie pragnie tego rodzaju rozrywki. Tak jak czesto oburza mnie bezsensowna albo sztywna polityczna poprawnosc, przynajmniej moge zrozumiec ze ta ostatnia czesto chroni ludzi od fanatyzmu, ostracyzmu, zwyklej krzywdy, itd. Ale jakim celom sluzy rozrywka ktora wlasciciele i decydenci branzy rozrywkowej i mediow chca nam sprzedac? Zwlaszcza ze jej nie potrzebujemy, nie sprawia nam ona zadnej przyjemnosci ani nie dostarcza zadnych doznan artystycznych. Czy Hollywood i przemysl filmowy kiedykolwiek przeprosil rodziny ofiar masowych mordow, jak np. w  Liceum Columbine, w kinie w Aurora (na przedmiesciu Denver), w szkole w Newtown, Conecticut, w Politechnice Virginia Tech i w dziesiatkach innych szkol, uniwersytetow, kin, urzedow pocztowych czy supermarketow w USA? Czy decydenci Hollywood i przemyslu filmowego kiedykolwiek probowali przeanalizowac i przedyskutowac zmiany w ukazywaniu przemocy czy jej ograniczenie w filmach pokazywanych nastolatkom? WHAT IS THE AIM OF ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY LEADERS?

There is many people all over the world who are plainly pissed at the way things are! And it seems to me I am slowly but unavoidably becoming one of them. Some of you might say: "Papi, come on, you're just getting old!" Or, one of you might say to the other: "He definitely ain't getting laid as much as he would like to, if at all!" Surely, these comments might be true, but somehow I feel and know the problem lies elsewhere. For a long time I have those thoughts, harbored certainly by many people all over the world. Thoughts of not everything being well with the way the empty yet loud models of pop culture being pushed through mass media and entertainment outlets under the false claims that it is what the people really want. I myself never wanted it, and I do not know many people who ever themselves enjoyed it or demanded. How then those controlling and managing the mass media and entertainment industry know that what they sell to us is what the people at large really want? Is it a question of determining of what the audience want or what it should want in opinion of the owners and managers of the entertainment and mass media business? Because if it is not what we want, but what we should want, in perception of those who commandeer the entertainment and mass media industries, then it seems that the entertainment and mass media are manipulating us and our needs, tastes, dreams and desires to accept the product which they want to sell to us, and which has nothing to do with our tastes and needs. And if this is so, then manipulation of our needs, tastes, dreams and desires becomes suspect at best. Why do they want us, the little people, to accept product like untamed violence, or violent, deviant and pervert depiction of love and sex, or movies so senseless as Transformers, etc., or various stupid and empty reality shows, or role models like Kardashians and other celebrities of a similar kind? Why this kind of entertainment is provided to us when clearly it attacks what is good in us, in society, and we can all sincerely say that our inner selves do not need or desire this kind of product for any purpose whatsoever. As far as I am offended often by senseless or rigid political correctness, at least I can say that it serves to some degree some community higher aims, when it protects people from bigotry, ostracisms, isolation, etc. But what aim serves the entertainment which the controllers and managers of that industry attempt to sell us? Even though we do not need it as it does not please us? Did they ever apologize to the victims of mass shootings in Columbine High School, Aurora Movie Theater, Newtown School, Virginia Tech Massacre, etc.? Did they even try to reexamine how to handle violence in movies? Do they still think that showing love scenes in movies is more dangerous than untamed violence? Do I need to see all those vampire movies? Surely, not. Then, please do illuminate me, what is the aim of your entertainment?

WORLD CUP 2014: TEAM USA IN FOOTBALL (SOCCER) DID MORE FOR THE IMAGE OF THEIR COUNTRY THAN ALL U.S. FOREIGN POLICY WIZZARDS IN THIS CENTURY

Yesterday at Arena Fonte Nova in Salvador, Brazil, the national team of the United States in football (sport known in the US under strange name of soccer) has been eliminated from the World Cup 2014 by national team of Belgium, who edged the Americans 2:1 in overtime. It was rather an amazing match of football. Better technically Belgians, studded with such stars of major European leagues in football as Hazard, Company, Mertens, de Bruyne, Lukaku, Witsel, Mirallas, Fellaini, or Courtois, dominated the 90 minutes of the match as well as the first half of the overtime. In the whole match Belgians outshot team USA 37 to 15 out of which Belgians had 24 shots on target whereas the Americans 8. Tim Howard, the U.S. goalkeeper and its only major international star, pulled out incredible amount of 16 saves, some of them astounding, and kept the American team in the game until the final whistle. That the Americans were able to keep the clean sheet throughout 90 minutes of regular time, boggles the mind of many experts. Their defense was out of this Earth, Alamo-like, if one may use the war terminology, considering the total onslaught conducted by the Belgians in regular 90 minutes of the match. However, the Belgians domination tells also the story of battle lost in midfield, controlled totally by creative and more advanced technically Belgians. It was a matter of rules of probability that American defense at some point had to give in to constant attacks of the unwavering Belgians. Eventually, in 93rd minute, the first half of the overtime, substitute Lukaku found with his pass de Bruyne, who with quick move beat American defender and found an opening, which he immediately took advantage of by beating finally Tim Howard with a low shot. Then, in 105th minute, when American team had to live dangerously and left open spaces while attempting to even the score, De Bruyne repaid Lukaku's earlier service by feeding him on the break; the latter outsmarted Howard with first touch shot under the roof. Everybody thought the game was over at this time, Marc Wilmots, the Belgian coach, even took of the pitch his biggest star, Eden Hazard. Jurgen Klinsmann, the German coach of team USA had other ideas though. He comes from the old style German national football team which often trailing was always able to find a way to win. In those times Gary Lineker uttered the famous line: football is a sport played by 22 players, and at the end, the Germans win. Klinsmann inserted into his squad Julian Green, the young Bayern Munich reserves player, who is earning his living and skills by playing in the lower German league. Now, in the second half of overtime, the game took a different turn. Wave upon wave of valiant American attacks brought a quick result in 107th minute, Julian Green was served nicely with a high ball which he struck with a volley into the Belgian net. 2:1!The American now were unrelenting and uncompromised in their desire to even the score, they threw at the Belgian players everything they had, including the kitchen sink. Perhaps they were not that stylish, the experts might say their technic was a bit crude, but no one can refuse their zest and desire to win, the valiant and open effort, bravery, team spirit and never die attitude. Not denying the glorious performance by Tim Howard, Belgian goalkeeper Courtois had to make a save of the day by denying Clint Dempsey who found himself one on one with the Belgian goalkeeper, after creative free kick executed by the Americans. The Belgians held out and team USA were defeated and eliminated, but they won plaudits from all over the world. I have to say that it was the best USA team's display in a world cup, even if they did not repeat the 2002 accomplishment when they advanced to quarterfinals. This team, under the guidance of Jurgen Klinsmann, who wisely enhanced its cohesion by leaving out Landon Donovan, finally caught the spirit and imagination of the whole world, and did much more for the good image of USA in the world than the foreign policy of the United States under several last presidents. Good job, Mr. Klinsmann, and great spirit and attitude, team USA! Thank you.

ENGLISH MEDIA AND FANS HAD A GOOD WORLD CUP 2014 - LUIS SUAREZ HAS BEEN EXCESSIVELY PUNISHED FOR THE GLORY TAKEN AWAY FROM THE FALLEN EMPIRE

The whirlwinds blowing around Luis Suarez, the Uruguayan football player (or soccer player, if you are an American), do not seem to decrease in power. English football commentators, journalists, pundits and fans at large are satisfied with the FIFA Disciplinary Committee's ruling which imposed on the 27-year-old a ban of nine international matches as well as the four-month ban from all football and, in addition, a fine of 100,000 Swiss Francs. One might imagine that Luis Suarez will lose much more in advertising deals which would be either terminated or not renewed. Yet, there are present many voices protesting, if not the idea of punishment levied against the player, than its severity. Even the victim of Suarez's latest biting attack, Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, has been offended by the severity of the punishment and making the player a celebrity pariah. As an attorney, I do not have a problem with disciplining Luis Suarez, although I have major problems with the severity of the punishment which would be unconstitutional, in my opinion, in the American legal system for it appears that various properties and/or rights were taken speedily away from Luis Suarez, without providing him with sufficient opportunity to be heard. The biting incident has brought a lot of sadness around the world, yet it seems that in England it resulted only with joy and satisfaction, judging by review of English press, comments to digital newspapers articles and blogs. Even though English national team has been eliminated from the World Cup in the first round (the group stage), without being able to win any match for the first time in history, the English football journalists, commentators and pundits, as well as the football fans, are quite happy and satisfied: Luis Suarez, a brilliant footballer and England national team's tormentor on the football pitch, has been punished not only for biting an Italian football player but, in English national psyche, for all their miseries including for daring to eliminate England from the World Cup, for ending another dream of World Cup glory for the Anglo-Saxon football empire, for 48 years of barren football years and mediocrity of England's national team, for having the temerity of being the best player in English Premier League, for being the top scorer in the Premier League, for his long known desire to abandon the riches of English Premier league for the Spanish football giants FC Barcelona or Real Madrid, for speaking Spanish, the language of hated former Spanish Empire and hated nowadays Argentines, crouching around, in English psyche, and awaiting for the best moment to pounce on the Falklands, which, oh my, they dare to call Malvinas, for the thorn of Scottish independence movement and the referendum, for Jean-Claude Juncker's presidency of the European Commission and for the European Union's existence, daring to silence, with cacophony of its everyday bureaucracy, the not so roaring lions of yesteryear British Empire.

WORLD CUP 2014: WILL USA V. GERMANY MATCH IN RECIFE BECOME A REPEAT OF NON-AGGRESSION PACT FROM GIJON 1982?

Today, the United States national team in football (or soccer, if you are North American) will meet Germany in match deciding who will advance from group G to the next round of the World Cup 2014. At the same time, in Brasilia, Portugal will meet Ghana. Before the last round to be played today, Germany tops the group with 4 points, USA is second, also with 4 points but with a worse goal difference, whereas Ghana and Portugal have each 1 point. If Germany and USA draw their match today, they would both advance further. If, on the other hand, either one of them wins, either Ghana or Portugal still can dream about the qualification to the next round, although Portugal would have to win by 3 goals margin, at least.
Since USA coach Jurgen Klinsman is German, and he and Joachim Low, the coach of Germany were coaching together Germany in 2006 World Cup, there is a lot of speculation that USA and Germany have a non-aggression pact, similar to the infamous Pact of Non-Aggression between West Germany and Austria at 1982 World Cup in Spain, where after West Germany in their last group match beat Austria 1:0 (W. Germany's Horst Hrubesch scored the winning goal in 10th minute, and then both teams pretended to play football to the end of the match because this score was giving qualification to Austria and West Germany, and Algeria who in other match beat Chile, and earlier W. Germany, was eliminated). That infamous match is known in Germany as Nichtangriffspakt von Gijon (Non-Aggression Pact of Gijon) or Schande von Gijon (Disgrace of Gijon). German ARD television commentator Eberhard Stanjek at some point refused to continue with commenting whereas Austrian commentator Robert Seeger requested that the viewers should switch off their television sets.
Will we have to watch today the replay of the infamous non-aggression pact of Gijon? Jurgen Klinsman indicated USA will beat Germany, whereas to all the experts all over the world the Germans are the favorites and should beat the Americans at ease, with the pool of talent they have at their disposal to which USA can respond only with team spirit, great conditioning and iron will to win. Let's hope that sport and forces of good will claim the win, as they should.

WORLD CUP 2014: WHAT TO DO ABOUT LUIS SUAREZ?

The third round of group stage matches at the World Cup turned out to be quite eventful. On Monday Brazil disposed of Cameroon by the score of 4-1 and advanced from Group A as its winner. Brazilians played their best match so far at this World Cup, however, their opponent was the weakest team, in fact one cannot call Cameroonian players a team, so devoid of any tactical discipline they were at this World Cup. The score was quite flattering to the Brazilians who still did not convince me, and unless they come up with the goods in the next game, they might be eliminated. Their young star, Neymar, bagged two additional goals and he is the current leader in the golden boot ranking with 4 goals in three matches. In the second match in group A, Mexico continued their good and spirited display by beating Croatia 3:1, but they will have to play in the next round the formidable Dutch team. In group B matches, Netherlands had to play without Robin Van Persie against dangerous Chile, yet they were able to prevail 2:0 over the South Americans, thanks to two goals created by Arjen Robben and scored respectively by Leroy Fer and Memphis Depay, both Dutch substitute players. Thus, Netherlands as the winners of group B will meet in next round Mexico whereas Chileans will play the hosts of the tournament: Brazil. My favorites are Netherlands, even though Mexicans will be very tough opponents, and, yes, I think that Chile can and will beat Brazil, based on the current display of form by both teams. Of course, Brazil have the advantage of being the host and the expected help of the referees, like in their first match against Croatia.
Today, in group C, Colombia crushed Japan 3:1 and won the group with maximum of 9 points whereas Greece advanced also, thanks to shock win over full of flair Ivory Coast 2:1, with the controversial penalty converted by Samaras in the injury time. Colombia before the tournaments was one of my 8 favorites to reach the quarterfinals, and even though they do not have Falcao at their disposal at this World Cup, they play impressive blend of physical and technical football and are unstoppable in their counterattacks. If they can continue like this, I see them reaching at least semifinals. In Group D, England was able only to draw with Costa Rica 0:0, who before the game already qualified as the winner of group D. The "English Lions" left the World Cup for the first time without winning any match. In the other match in Group D, Uruguay prevailed over Italy 1:0 thanks to Diego Godin's header, and controversial red card to Italian midfielder Claudio Marchisio. This match will be part of the World Cup folklore thanks to scandalous attack of Luis Suarez on Italian defender Chielini, just minutes before Godin's winning goal Suarez appeared to bite Chielini on his left shoulder, and then pretended that he was elbowed by Chielini. The referee, who it appears did not notice the bite,  did not react to the attack and failed to eject Suarez from the pitch. Costa Rica, the winner of group D will play in the next round Greece (I stick with the unglamorous Greek veterans) whereas Uruguay will be doubly unlucky to play Colombia, surely without Luis Suarez, who in all probability will be suspended by FIFA for the biting incident, third one in his career. Even though the tv recordings might not be enough to find Suarez guilty in the court of law for his criminal assault, apparently they are sufficient to FIFA Disciplinary Committee to  ban Suarez after the game, provided the referee did not witness the incident.  What a shame! Uruguay is as good as gone from this World Cup without Suarez in their encounter with Colombia in the next round. He is actually much better and more explosive a player than Cristiano Ronaldo or Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and I rate Suarez currently as no. 2 player in the world, only behind Leo Messi. It appeared that he was about to put his career in the highest gear as Barcelona are interested in acquiring him from Liverpool. Will they be interested in acquiring the genius forward who happens to be a serial biter? What to do about Luis?

WORLD CUP 2014: HIGH MARKS FOR GHANA, ALGERIA, COSTA RICA AND USA IN THE SECOND ROUND OF GROUP MATCHES

The second round of group matches has shown how exciting World Cup 2014 has become. It is time to talk now about the perennial lightweights consisting either of poor countries such as Costa Rica, Honduras, Iran, Algeria, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon and Nigeria or of the rich newcomers, relatively speaking, to the football table such as the United States, Australia, South Corea or Japan. I kind of predicted that CONCACAF countries might have much more to say in this World Cup due to their tropical climate (Costa Rica, Honduras, Mexico, even U.S.A.) and time zone location, not demanding any acclimatization from their players or any time adjustment, even if they play during majority of the year in Europe). But never I would have predicted that Costa Rica would be able to beat Uruguay and Italy in two consecutive matches! I could have smelled an accidental win, but two in a row? Over the giants of world football? I knew that Costa Rica best players play in solid European clubs, even if not in those from the top shelf, and that they are exposed to high standards of European football on a daily basis. FIFA, the regulatory body of world football (or soccer, if your language is American English) apparently smelled something fishy about Costa Rica wins for they selected seven players from Costa Rica, after the match against Italy, for anti-doping tests. Usually, two players from each team are selected for the routine anti-doping post match tests. FIFA claims that selection for the doping test of so many players from Costa Rica was caused by unavailability of many Costa Rica players for anti-doping tests prior to the tournament. Those who follow doping affairs know that it is common to those using doping during training prior to the competition to disappear so not to be caught by unannounced random anti-doping inspectors (i.e. Jamaican or U.S. track and field athletes). We will see what happens but we all hope that Costa Rica is for real. Regarding African teams, prior to the tournament I hoped that at least Ghana, Ivory Coast and Nigeria would make it to the post-group round of 16. In fact, I hoped that Ghana (or Belgium) might be the surprise team of the tournament. Even though Ghana outplayed USA, and their better footballing skills were clearly visible; they were beaten in the first round of group matches as USA played a smarter brand of football.  But, in the second match against Germany, incidentally so far the best match of the tournament, Ghana showed that they are capable not only of football full of power, but also of flowing, positional play, marked by high technical individual skills of the players. Unless Germany and USA will come to a quiet understanding and draw their final game, I predict that Germany and Ghana would advance from the so called group of death. I have to give high praise to USA team for their second game against Portugal which they drew 2:2. Although they won the first game against Ghana (2:1), Ghana was the more enterprising team, notwithstanding USA great team spirit and killing instinct displayed by the goals of veteran of English Premier League Clint Dempsey and the newcomer John Brooks. However, in the game against Portugal, USA were visibly the better team, creating better occasions and playing consistently, notwithstanding the higher technical skills of Portuguese players. Portugal, on the other hand is a funny team, boasting the talents of Ronaldo, Nani, Moutinho, Veloso or Carvalho, yet unable to play as a cohesive team, overwhelmed by the egos of their players. And Ronaldo does not make them better but worse (except for the occasions such as the pass to Valera which gave Portugal the drawing goal in the injury time). In my comments to articles in English Guardian before the World Cup, I had predicted that Portugal will not make it out of their group. Returning to USA team, it seams that Jurgen Klinsman has gotten it right, by getting rid of Landon Donovan and putting his money on  Dempsey and Bradley (and the only world class US player: goalkeeper Tim Howard)  as the leaders of the American team. The team is cohesive, exhibits killing instinct and never die attitude, even though it lacks still in technical skills department. They should get better. What happened to the national team of Cameroon, only God knows. The indomitable lions of 1982 or 1990 World Cups are just a distant memory, although I would not bet against them in match against unconvincing Brasil (incidentally, I do not rate this Brazilian team highly and do not consider them as capable of getting to the final, notwithstanding the referees help and the best schedule of the matches). Nigeria, now without big names except for Odemwingie and Emmenike, in the game against Bosnia showed that they can be successful with their passing game as long as they are consistent in defense. Against Bosnia, their defense was focused and solid, and it could rely on the goalkeeper. I believe they should advance together with Argentina to the play-off rounds. The complete surprise were Algeria, usually a defensively minded team from North Africa, as they were in the game against Belgium. This time, they changed their tactics and played offensive football, surprising South Korea with the simple directness of their game. South Korea and Japan appear to have regressed since the last World Cup, although they might still pull out a surprise in third game. Australia, relying on good Cahill and Jedinak, clearly the weakest team in the tournament, continuing to play typical British football. I do not see much happening for them in the near future. Iran, on the other hand made visible progress under the tutelage of Carlos Queiroz, relying on good defensive game and dangerous counterattacks conducted by skillful and mobile players. They were particularly dangerous against offensively minded Argentina, and had they won, it wouldn't have been undeserved, notwithstanding that it is easy to park a bus and rely on counterattacks against offensively playing teams. Summarizing, great World Cup for the minnows, if minnows still exist in the world football.

HOW GREAT BRITAIN CORNERED ITSELF: FROM PINOCHET TO ASSANGE AND GUNBOAT DIPLOMACY

Great Britain and its government has put itself on the track to become a pariah of international community. Its Foreign Office has made threaths to the country of Ecuador and its authorities to invade Ecuadorean Embassy in London, Great Britain, should Ecuador grant Julian Assange's request for political asylum and fail to release Mr. Assange to British authorities, who then would extradite him to Sweden, where he is wanted for "questioning" in alleged misbehavior consisting of having unprotected consensual sex with two adult women - initially Swedish prosecutor dropped the charges, however they were reinstated as a result of an apparent pressure by a foreign power. The WikiLeaks founder is afraid that Sweden would release him to the U.S. authorities which in all probability would put him on trial for espionage (and possibly for treason, although it appears that argument for treason charges would be tenuous, at best, as Mr. Assange is not a U.S. citizen) and would have him subjected to a capital punishment. Since Great Britain, Sweden and USA have reportedly refused to give guarantees to Ecuador that Mr. Assange would not be extradited to the United States, Ecuador decided to approve Mr. Assange's request for political asylum based on a well founded fear of persecution. It is staggering how a country of Great Britain's stature could have cornered itself so unwisely... The Foreign Office threatened Ecuador that it would utilize a 1987 Diplomatic and Consular Premises Act to invade Ecuadorean Embassy and to remove Mr. Assange. However, that obscure act has been cooked up to remove squaters from foreign embassies or foreign countries' properties, whereas Mr. Assange is on the country of Ecuador's property with consent of the owners, so legally a squatter he is not. The Brits can still save their face by closing their eyes and allowing Assange to slip through... After all, it would be a piece of cake for the U.S. special forces to abduct Assange from Ecuador and have him brought to the United States for trial. Britain's invasion of the Ecuadorean Embassy would have caused more chaos in the world of diplomatic affairs than publication of the United States' diplomatic correspondence by WikiLeaks has ever caused. Let's hope that Great Britain will not shoot at its own foot and will not carry out its threats as such an unwise conduct would open the pandora's box. Invasion of the territory of Ecuadorian Embassy would cause the greatest damage to international relations ever done and, indirectly, irreparable damage to world order. Such an outcome would not further anybody's interests, including those of the United States. Great Britain claims to follow the rule of law in pursuing their plan to invade inviolable, under the Vienna Convention, territory of the Embassy of Ecuador and to extradite Julian Assange on trumped up charges of engaging in unprotected consensual sex with adult women, which charges were dropped earlier by the Swedish prosecutor; it is the same Great Britain which refused to extradite general Pinochet, former dictator of Chile, murderer and torturer of thousands of his own countrymen, when Spain demanded lawfully his extradition. Are we missing something? It appears that Great Britain was caught off handed while doing the United States' dirty work. Will the United States save now the Brits from their conundrum and declare that they are not interested in seeking extradition of Mr. Assange, neither from the Brits nor Swedes, by the same opening the door for Mr. Assange to agree to his extradition to Sweden? I guess, not. From the U.S. point of view, if they really believe that Mr. Assange endangered the lives of American operatives or soldiers, they should go after him. But why not be straightforward about it? Why cause the British and Swedish allies to lose their faces while the U.S. sits on the fence, observing the Swedes and Brits playing the charade?

LONDON 2012: OLYMPICS IN CONSTANT TROUBLE

It appears that Mitt Romney got it right: the 2012 Olympic Games in London, known as London 2012, are in huge trouble. Day after day, one scandal is being chased by another one. It all started with shortages in security personnel: turned out, that organizers were missing approximately 3,000 people necessary to provide safety to the olympians and their audience! It was too late to train the necessary personnel, so, the organizers had to call in the military forces to cover for the shortages - Thank you Sir Sebastian Coe for converting the civilian holiday into a military operation! Then, as soon as the olympians from all over the world started to arrive in, the London airports were not able to process them, the baggages were misplaced, the buses were getting lost in traffic, unable to reach their destinations for hours. Finally, before the opening ceremony was wrapped up, one country after another started to protest the treatment of their teams, the most vocal being the team of India, who felt humiliated by an exposure given to unknown woman marching by India team's flag-bearer; the intruder dominated the 10 seconds spot of the tv coverage, granted by the organizers to the second most populated country in the world. We are now only in the fourth day of the 2012 Olympics, yet scandal follows a scandal. Country after country experiences so called false flag shocks, to be associated forever with London 2012; the most crude example being the football match between North Korea and Colombia, prior to which North Koreans walked off the pitch. Eventually, as a result of organizers' display of their enemies' (South Korea) flag as a purported emblem of North Korea, the match had to be delayed for approximately one hour. Yesterday, it was the Chinese's turn to get offended by display of their flag at a lower height than South Korea's flag; swimmers from those two countries were classified both in second position and both received silver medals, and the olympic etiquette required that both countries' flags should have been placed at the same height. Well, I never thought the English were so lackadaisical! And, most of the times, the olympic venues shock with huge patches of empty seats! Some of the observers must be quipping that BBC Panorama and Sol Campbell had something to do with it! I can understand that the US liberal media jumped on Mitt Romney to show his purported lack of diplomacy and inexperience on international scene, in an attempt to score a point for Obama campaign in the US presidential elections. Yet, Romney's words, perhaps crudely undiplomatic, were definitely warranted and the majority of the media, instead of pouring the scorn on him, should have rather applauded Romney for the sincerity, which the same media often says is so needed in the politics. Let's hope that the Londoners finally will get a grip on the olympic machinery and redouble their efforts in the remaining days of the 30th Olympiad. Yet FIFA, the world footbal (soccer) authorities, should be applauded in their collective wisdom for not gratning England's bid to organize the 2018 World Cup. For once, FIFA got it right! And let's hope that England, before applying for organization of another international sporting event, would first hone their organizational skills. Perhaps, they should consult the Poles and the Ukrainians, the hugely successful organizers of Euro 2012 - whom, paradoxically, the London and English media denounced so prematurely, prior to the kick off of Euro 2012, for alleged racism, xenophobia, lack of infrastructure, and expected calamities. Well, those dark predictions at Euro 2012 did not come to fruition, instead, the English now have to constantly blush for their own shortcomings. I presume, with some dose of satisfaction and "schadenfreude", that English media, including BBC's Panorama (and Sol Cambpell), Guardian, Telegraph, the London Times as well as their loud tabloids, enjoy the quality of British paper while eating their own words. THE BATMAN MASSACRE: WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED ABOUT OURSELVES?

Another random massacre, and another opportunity to do something about gun laws, appear to be as good as gone. What is happening to America? Is this how the modern society resolves its social pathologies? What kind of an animal a man of 21st century is about to become? Where do we go from here? Does anybody care about random violence anymore? Do we still remember Fort Hood, Texas massacre in 2009, Northern Illinois University massacre in 2008, Virginia Tech University massacre  in 2007 or the one near Aurora: Columbine High School massacre in 1999? Was anything done about the roots of any of them?
The usual suspects such as entertainment industry, media, politicians and gun industry, with its chief client and advocate, National Rifle Association, have lost  another opportunity to do something meaningful about the exposure of American society to random violence. The new thread, characteristic to the Aurora shooting, was an PR offensive undertaken by Hollywood and entertainment industry (one of the main culprits and inspirators for the random shooters)  in aftermath of the batman massacre, in particular the series of statements issued by Warner Brothers, and all the stars associated with "The Dark Knight Rises" production. Imagine, the community at large "held their collective breath" waiting for Christian Bale or Jason Gordon-Levitt's nuggets of wisdom (LOL!). Not better were politicians, i.e. John Hickenlooper, the governor of the State of Colorado who wasted no time in stupidly defending gun control laws, or, rather, a lack of them, and indirectly defending NRA interests. Not better were mayor of Aurora, Steve Hogan, and its Chief of Police, Dan Oates, or New York City Commissioner of Police, Raymond W. Kelly. All of these officials seem to propagate a stupid belief, which they repeat like a mantra, that freedom to purchase arms would not have stopped the batman massacre or that it would not have limited its monstrosity or its size.  Comme on! Have some decency! It is shocking to any human mind that there are people who advocate total freedom in acquisition of arms and consider 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, granting an uninfringed right to keep and bear arms, to be holly and unassailable. Don't you know that people created laws and people can change them? How long can America cling to something created in 1791, when semi-automatic or automatic guns were not invented yet. Times change, things change, people change.   Imagine how much good the nay sayers could have achieved in redirecting their energy and money towards the real causes of the shooting, instead of protecting themselves and their profits through PR schemes. The modern society with its hierarchy of values is obviously full of pathologies. The man of 21st century seems to be lost among various forces attacking his psyche, the chief among them being a God of materialism and consumerism, propagated by the masters of finance, utilizing such servants as media and entertainment industry.

A HUGE BLOW TO CLAIMS THAT "POLES WERE COMPLICIT IN HOLOCAUST" AS PRESIDENT OBAMA PERSONALLY REGRETTS "POLISH DEATH CAMP" REMARK.

Notwithstanding ignorance of his speech-writers, president Obama corrected their mistake, and in the letter to Polish president, Bronislaw Komorowski, apologized, sort of, for the "polish death camp" remark. President Obama admitted that Medal of Freedom, granted posthumously to Polish underground hero and Georgetown University professor, Jan Karski, who alerted F.D.R. to the fate of  Jews in nazi- occupied Europe, in the middle of extermination process by the nazi Germany, was also an expression of acknowledgment of the sacrifices of Polish nation under German nazi occupation. President Obama stressed the bravery and heroism of the Poles, exhibited in their underground resistance to the nazis, and unequivocally stated that there were no "polish death camps". Also, he went on to acknowledge that many of the Poles sacrificed their own lives while saving Jews from the Holocaust. President Obama's letter regretting the "Polish death camp" remark, has been received as satisfactory by the president of the Republic of Poland. One only can hope, that various revisionist theories about "polish death camps" will finally be put to rest.
